Vital Records/Order Birth, Death, Marriage Certificates Online
Certified copies of Birth, Death and Marriage Certificates are available online for each event that occurred in Oakland County. (Records prior to 1935 are available in person or by mail.) All copies issued by this office are certified copies with a raised seal and serve as an 'original' document.
*To protect you from identity theft, we require a copy of valid photo identification i.e. driver's license or state identification to be sent to our office. You may scan a copy of your valid identification and email it to us atclerkvital@oakgov.comor fax it to our office at (248) 858-0416.
IMPORTANT: Your order will not be processed unless we receive proof of identity within two days.
If you do not possess valid photo identification you may order birth records from michigan.gov/mdch.
Birth Certificates are confidential records and are only available to the person or parent of the person named on that record. If you are a legal guardian, legal representative or an heir of the person, additional documentation is required and you cannot order online.
