New Oakland County Directories Available!

Oakland County, Michigan, May 8, 2009 -- First-Ever Two-Year Edition to Save Money, Says Clerk Ruth Johnson. The new Oakland County Directory - with information about county services ranging from airports to animal control, parks and planning, law enforcement, health and veteran services - is now available, announced Ruth Johnson, Clerk & Register of Deeds.

The 2009-2010 edition, for the first time ever, will serve the public for two years. "We are looking at every expense right now and we will save $25,000 by printing the directory every two years," said Johnson. "We know some names will change but residents can go to the county's website at www.oakgov.com for updated information."

Directories, which are provided at no cost to the public, include listings for state and federal officials, Oakland County's Board of Commissioners, state and local courts and the Oakland County Road Commission. Every city, township and village is also listed, including their public officials, contact numbers and website information.

This year's Oakland County Directory cover features the campus at Oakland University as well an information link to all of Oakland County's institutions of higher learning. "We wanted to highlight some of what makes Oakland County such a special place to live and work," Johnson said. "Oakland University is truly one of the county's shining institutions."

Copies of the directory may be picked up from the Oakland County Clerk's Office Elections Division on the ground floor of the Oakland County Court House, 1200 N. Telegraph, Pontiac, MI, 48341. For information, call (248) 858-0564.
