WWAM - Frequently Asked Questions
The following are frequently asked questions of the Oakland County Community Corrections Division's WWAM Program:
How is a person referred to the WWAM program?
If I forget my money order can I still participate in WWAM? Can I pay for my WWAM days in advance?
Can I pay with a personal check?
If a participant does not appear for their scheduled day, what will happen?
Can the reinstatement fee be waived?
Are there specific rules that must be followed while participating in the WWAM program?
What are the policies regarding alcohol?
If I am alcohol testing for probation and my letter is called on a day I am supposed to participate in WWAM. How can I do my PBT for that day?
How is a person referred to the WWAM program?
Offenders must be referred to the program by a judge or probation officer as a condition of sentence or violation of probation. The court must fax the judgment of sentencing to 248.451.2319 with the number of days that the participants are assigned to complete.
Please check with each individual court as to whether they will assign specific days or have the participant call the WWAM program (248.451.2330) to schedule their days.

If I forget my money order can I still participate in WWAM? Can I pay for my WWAM days in advance?
To receive credit for days worked, payment must be made in full. Payments may be made in advance either as payment in full or per weekend ($30 = 2 days).

Can I pay with a personal check?
We do not accept cash or checks. Participants must pay with a money order made out to OCCCD.

If a participant does not appear for their scheduled day, what will happen?
Attendance is mandatory. If a participant does not appear for their scheduled day, he/she will be terminated from the program, a termination report will be sent to the referring court, and it is up to the court to determine if the participant will be re-referred. The court must send documentation to the WWAM program to refer participants back into the program and the participant must pay a $15 reinstatement fee.
Any changes to the current assigned WWAM days must be made through the referring court.

Can the reinstatement fee be waived?
Only under special circumstances (e.g. medical with documentation) can the fee be waived. WWAM Administration will make the determination upon receipt of documentation from the court or probation officer.

Are there specific rules that must be followed while participating in the WWAM program?
Yes, the court will provide a copy of the  WWAM Guidelines and Rules (file size 185k) Participants are responsible for reading these rules thoroughly.

What are the policies regarding alcohol?
WWAM is a Zero Tolerance program. Anyone found under the influence of alcohol or drugs will be terminated from the program.

If I am alcohol testing for probation and my letter is called on a day I am supposed to participate in WWAM. How can I do my PBT for that day?
WWAM staff can administer a PBT and sign your log. Participants should check with their probation officer prior, to ensure that the court will accept this as a substitution for your regular PBT.
