Below are some of the newest Enterprise GIS programs and services that are provided through the Oakland County Department of Information Technology (OCIT). These programs are available to Oakland County departments and local units of government; and may be available to the public for a fee. 2010 Census Activities
In preparation for the 2010 Census, Oakland County has collaborated with its local communities to participate in several U.S. Census Bureau programs including: Local Update of Census Addresses (LUCA); annual Boundary and Annexation Survey (BAS); and most recently, the 2010 Census New Construction Program. These initiatives are important because they help ensure accurate maps and address data for U.S. Census Bureau activities.

GIS Training Classes
Oakland County Enterprise GIS offers instructor-led training for representatives from a County agency or a local unit of government. Classes are generally taught every other month on the fourth Wednesday of the month; and are held in the Lower Level Training Rooms in the Information Technology Building. Maps and Geographic Data
The Maps and Geographic Data website is an index of the maps and geographic data available throughout the Oakland County Web site including: free maps that can be downloaded and printed; maps that can be ordered online; interactive, web-based maps; and publications that can be ordered or downloaded. The Map Atlas Viewer (MAV) is available through Access Oakland. MAV allows the user to display a Graphic Information System (GIS) map of properties by parcel number, property address or map page number as assigned by GIS.

Real-Time Locator (RTL)
The Oakland County Real Time Locator (RTL) Mapping Interface is a web-based vehicle and cell phone tracking system. The application tracks the location of a vehicle through an Automated Vehicle Locator (AVL) within the vehicle. Cell phones are tracked using the Global Positioning System (GPS) capabilities embedded in cell phones. The Fact Sheet ( , file size 51k) and Management Presentation ( , file size 818k) summarize the goals and benefits of the Real Time Locator (RTL) program.

Trimble GeoXT GPS - Free Loaner Program
