The Southfield Detention Facility processes all of the City of Southfield arrests as well as all of the Royal Oak Township arrests.

Visitation
Visitation is by appointment only. Inmates are responsible for setting their own appointments and advising their visitors of the appointment. Visitors not on the visiting list will not be allowed to visit. Visiting days and times are:
Monday & Tuesday
- 6:30-7:00 p.m.
- 7:30-8:00 p.m.
- 8:30-9:00 p.m.
Saturday & Sunday
- 10:00-10:30 a.m.
- 1:15-1:45 p.m.
- 2:30-3:00 p.m.
- 3:30-4:00 p.m.
Inmates receive one 30-minute visit per week.
Trusties receive two 30-minute visits per week.
Visitors must possess a current state-issued photo ID. Children under the age of 12 years old will not be allowed to visit. Inmates are permitted 2 visitors, one must be 18 years of age or older. Visitors must be respectably dressed. No revealing attire, gang insignia or offensive clothing will be allowed. Sleeveless attire, short skirts and short shorts are not permitted.
Please arrive at the jail no later than 15 minutes prior to the start of your scheduled time. If you arrive later than 15 minutes prior to your time your visit will be cancelled.
VISITORS ATTEMPTING TO BRING IN CONTRABAND WILL BE PROSECUTED.
Inmate Mail
Incoming mail will be inspected for money and contraband. Contraband in the mail may:
The following items are not permitted:

Lipstick, tape, glue, ink stamps and stickers etc.

Nude or sexually explicit photos/drawings, etc.

Instant photos

No stamps or envelopes

Newspaper clippings, pornographic material or any other items not allowed by jail policy.
