Volunteer at the dog parks

Dog Park Ambassadors serve as onsite resources for park patrons and dog park users, reporting any issues, problems or maintenance concerns to park staff. Contact volunteer@oakgov.com for details.

Pet Wellness Clinic

Bring your dogs and cats to a Pet Wellness Clinic, presented by Oakland County Parks, All About Animals, Oakland County and Oakland County Animal Shelter & Pet Adoption Center.

Dog vaccines, including Bordetella (kennel cough), Distemper (DHPP or DHLPP; includes Parvo; with or without Lepto) and 1- or 3-year Rabies, will be available for $10. The Lyme vaccine will be offered for $20 and Canine Flu vaccine for $30. Cat vaccines, including Feline Distemper (FVRCP), Feline Leukemia (FELV) and 1- or 3-year Rabies will be available for $10. Flea prevention, heartworm tests and prevention, dewormer and microchipping will also be available for a fee. Cash is preferred, although Mastercard, Visa and Discover will also be accepted.

Dog licenses may be purchased for $15 (spayed and neutered dogs) and $25 (male/female unaltered dogs). Three-year licenses will be available to qualifying dogs.

For pet safety, bring dogs on a short leash with a snug collar and cats in a carrier.

Another Pet Wellness Clinic is set for May 18 at Independence Oaks County Park, Pine Grove Pavilion.
