Cranbrook Schools Horizons-Upward Bound

Sommer has secured more than $10 million for various nonprofits in Southeast Michigan by improving fundraising efficiency and streamlining processes. She is director of development for Cranbrook Schools Horizons-Upward Bound (HUB) where she provides educational access to students with limited opportunities who attend high school in metro Detroit. Sommer is a first-generation college graduate and the first HUB alum to work in a fundraising capacity for the more than 50-year-old program. She has a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan and is a Certified Fundraising Executive. She works to advance fundraising by mentoring others and through integrity, dedication and commitment. She is a 2017 graduate of Leadership Oakland and the proud mother of two children: Jacoya, 16; and Trent Jr., 4.
