If you are a refugee or work-authorized immigrant, we can help you overcome barriers to employment and find a job that matches your qualifications. Contact the Oakland County Michigan Works! office nearest you to review the free services available.


Services and Resources

Services and resources may include the following.

  • Determination of eligibility to receive assistance from the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) programs
  • Assessment of literacy, numeracy, and English-language proficiency, as well as supportive service needs
  • Job search assistance
  • Career advising
  • Workforce and labor market employment information
  • Assistance in determining eligibility for financial aid
  • Training and education programs
  • Information for filing unemployment insurance program claims
  • Referrals to other needed programs and services

Resource referrals are available for the following services:

  • English as a second language
  • Housing
  • Health care
  • Child care
  • Transportation
  • High school diploma/ equivalency
  • Public assistance
  • Financial counseling
  • Legal
