Marie-Helene Mikell was born and raised outside the United States, where she was exposed to unique, beautiful cultures. She speaks fluent French and studied Spanish for four years. 

Her bachelor's degree in Biology and a master's degree in Health Informatics led her to work with non-profit organizations as a leader and coach for the past decade. Serving the homeless and mental health community have been her most enriching experiences and keep her humble and grounded. 

Marie-Helene is a firm believer that Education is the road to success. Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to the people who prepare for it today -Malcolm X. 

She looks forward to being part of the Oakland80 team that helps people overcome barriers and create brighter futures. 

Marie-Helene will be based in Waterford.
