The American Rescue Plan funding from the federal government provides a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for communities. These are one-time investments that will allow the county to make critical and transformational investments that will improve the lives of our residents and help our businesses, communities and organizations succeed and thrive.

Open Grant Opportunities
Senior Volunteerism Grant
Grant program to increase volunteer assistance for non-profits that serve older adults
This grant provides financial assistance to increase number of volunteers in non-profit organizations that provide senior centered services in Oakland County. The aim of the funding is to help organizations that rely on older adult volunteers expand their programming, as these programs have been slow to recover following the COVID-19 health crisis.
Eligible applicants include Oakland County nonprofits that provide senior-centered services, such as food delivery, transportation and home repairs, or have an existing senior volunteer program. Past recipients of Oakland County ARPA-funded grants are not eligible. For a full list of requirements, visit: Senior Volunteerism Grant Requirements.
This grant opportunity is for non-profit organizations that provide senior centered services in Oakland County to improve their evidence-based volunteer management practices and can be used for:
- Backgrounds checks screening
- Outreach plan to increase number of volunteers
- Volunteer training

The project will promote awareness of cultural diversity in arts, entertainment, and food programming and presentation.
