1 in 4 older adults fall every year in the U.S. Falls are the leading cause of both fatal and nonfatal injuries for people age 65 years and over.

In Oakland County, it's estimated that over 12,000 residents 65+ years were treated in the ER for falls in 2016. Falls can be prevented – but the risk factors must be addressed!

Many adults recognize that falling is a risk, but believe it won’t happen to them. Talk with your family and friends about the risk factors – help each other take steps to stay safe.
