What is household hazardous waste?

Household hazardous waste is any product known to cause adverse effects to humans or the environment. These include items that are ignitable, corrosive, reactive or toxic. Some of the most common household hazardous products are cleaners and aerosols, paint, varnish and thinners, herbicides and pesticides, along with batteries and automotive fluids.

Where do I take my household hazardous waste?

While Oakland County does not have a county-wide household hazardous waste disposal program, NO HAZ, RRRASOC and SOCRRA service many local communities. Several communities operate independent programs.
