Family Fun and Resource Expo

Oakland County’s first Health and Housing Summer Fest was a success with 455 people in attendance at Catalpa Oaks County Park on August 19! As a result of the event, many Oakland County residents received beneficial resources for their households.

  • 200 backpacks filled with school supplies for children
  • 175 households received new laptops courtesy of Comcast
  • 80 children received vision screenings and 62 children received a new pair of glasses from Vision To Learn
  • 27 community partners were available to speak with about housing, health and other support services
  • 20 residents were registered for the Oakland County Health Division’s dental program
  • 13 kindergarteners received dental screenings
  • One pair of VR glasses, 7 breastfeeding accessory kits, 5 bicycles and helmets, and 2 car seats were raffled to families
