Healthy Michigan Plan

The Healthy Michigan Plan provides health care coverage to low-income Michigan residents. Governor Rick Snyder signed into law Michigan Public Act 107 of 2013, which makes health care benefits available to Michigan residents through the Healthy Michigan Plan beginning April 1, 2014.

What is the Health Insurance Marketplace?

Under the Affordable Care Act, which established the Health Insurance Marketplace, most Americans must have health coverage in 2014 or they will pay a fee if they do not qualify for exclusions.

The Health Insurance Marketplace helps people without insurance find health coverage or allows those who are insured to look for better options. The Health Insurance Marketplace is sometimes known as the health insurance “exchange.” You must enroll in the Health Insurance Marketplace to receive healthcare benefits.
