What is PrEP?
PrEP reduces the risk of getting HIV from sex by almost 99% when taken as prescribed.
PrEP reduces the risk of getting HIV among people who inject drugs by at least 74% when taken as prescribed.
PrEP is covered by most insurances, including Medicaid and Medicare. There are also programs that provide PrEP for free or at a reduced cost. Our PrEP Navigator can help assist you with this process.
What is PEP?
PEP is a medication taken after possible HIV exposure to help prevent contracting HIV.
Must be started within 72 hours of possible HIV exposure.
The sooner you start PEP, the better. If prescribed, you will need to take it for 28 days.
What is doxyPEP?
About
DoxyPEP - doxycycline post-exposure prophylaxis - is a medication taken after unprotected vaginal, oral, and/or anal sex to help prevent contracting some bacterial sexually transmitted infections. It reduces chlamydia and syphilis infections by more than 70% and gonorrhea infections by about 50%.
DoxyPEP does NOT help prevent viral infections such as HIV or mpox, and cannot be used in place of a condom.
Eligibility
DoxyPEP should be taken ideally within 24 hours but no later than 72 hours after unprotected sex.
You cannot take doxyPEP if you have a severe allergy to doxycycline or if you are pregnant.
Appointments
Walk-ins only, no appointment needed.
After taking doxyPEP, continue to test for STIs every 3 months or whenever you have symptoms.
Fees
$5 administration fee covers testing and treatment.
