Oakland County Health Division offers two types of Tuberculosis (TB) screenings: TB Skin Tests and TB Blood Tests. A Public Health nurse will determine which type of screening is recommended for each client.

Eligibility

  • TB Skin Test: No eligibility requirements
  • TB Blood Test (IGRA - TSPOT): 
    • Must be Oakland County resident
    • Must have had a positive TB Skin Test, Bacille Calmette-Guerinneed (BCG) vaccine, or need for immigration.
    • Call 248-424-7042 for questions about eligibility requirements.

Appointments/Walk-Ins

  • TB Skin Test: Walk-in only.
    • TB Skin tests requires two visits - administration of the test and a return visit 48-72 hours later to interpret the results. TB Skin Tests are done on the following days:
      • Monday: 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
      • Tuesday: 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
      • Wednesdays & Fridays: 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
      • Thursday: No testing
  • TB Blood Test (IGRA - TSPOT): Walk-ins welcome.
    • Monday and Wednesday: 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m.
    • Tuesday: 9:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.
    • Thursday: 7:30 a.m. - 12 p.m.
    • Friday: No testing

Fees

  • TB Skin Test: $8 plus $5 clinic visit fee
  • TB Blood Test: $56 plus $5 clinic visit fee
  • Payment is due at the time of services.
  • Oakland County Health Division will supply clients with a receipt to submit to insurance as many may cover the costs.
