1) How do I get tickets?
Tickets are available up to three days in advance online or at the wave pool. Please note: Online ticket sales stop at 2 p.m. for same-day admission; onsite ticket sales stop daily one hour before the wave pool closes.
2) Do tickets sell out?
Occasionally Waterford Oaks Wave Pool may reach capacity. Purchase tickets ahead of time online or at the wave pool to ensure entry. Once the park is sold out, no more tickets for that day are sold.
3) Do I have to buy a ticket if I don't plan to swim?
Yes, everyone entering the wave pool must purchase a ticket. Infants ages 0-23 months old need a free child entry ticket.
4) What is the Oakland County discount and who is eligible to receive it?
Since Oakland County residents pay a millage to support the park system by helping fund the Oakland County Parks and Recreation Commission and support the park system, residents receive a discounted ticket rate. A photo ID showing Oakland County residency is required to receive the discount.
5) Can I bring in my own food?
Yes, Waterford Oaks Wave Pool is the perfect spot for a picnic! Patrons are welcome to bring their own lunch, dinner or snacks. However, no glass or alcohol is allowed on the premises.
6) Can I bring my own chairs?
Because of the limited deck space, we provide chairs on a first-come, first-served basis. No outside chairs are allowed. We do ask on busy days that patrons share chairs when they are not using them.
7) Can I exit the waterpark and re-enter?
Yes. Please see a staff member at the main entrance before exiting.
8) Do I have to wear a swimsuit?
Yes, the Oakland County Health Division requires all bathers to wear clean, proper swimming garments that are lightweight are free of restriction so they do nor interfere with the ability to swim. All clothing, including swimsuits, must adhere to the local and state laws for public places as well as wave pool rules. Street clothes are not proper swimming attire.
9) At what age can my children attend the wave pool by themselves?
We recommend that no children be unaccompanied in the wave pool. However, those at least 12 years old whose parents/guardians deem them responsible enough to attend without adult supervision will be granted entry.
10) Are strollers or pack and plays allowed?
We understand that taking little ones to the wave pool is complicated and takes a lot of stuff. We gladly allow parents to bring strollers and pack and plays. However, when the wave pool is crowded, we ask that patrons be conscious of space and stow these items away when not in use. Also, please note that Waterford Oaks Wave Pool is located in an open area that often experiences strong winds, so for safety reasons. lightweight items like pack and plays must be weighted down once set up. We do not allow anything to be staked into the ground.
11) Can I bring a beach umbrella?
Due to lack of protection from high winds, beach umbrellas are not allowed in the wave pool. Handheld parasols or umbrellas may be used, but must be closed and stowed away when not in hand.
12) Can I bring water toys or inflatables to the waterpark?
Water toys, inflatable toys and inflatable swim aids are not allowed into the wave pool.
13) Can I bring my own life jacket or swim aid?
Patrons are welcome to bring their own life jacket if it is U.S. Coast Guard-approved. To check, look for the Coast Guard seal on the inside of the jacket. Swim aids, such as inflatable water wings, are not permitted. The wave pool does have a limited supply of life jackets that are free for patrons to check out during their visit.
14) Does the wave pool offer lockers?
The wave pool does have keyed lockers for patrons to store valuables during their visit for a nominal fee. These lockers are for single use.
15) Do any of the waterpark attractions have height or age restrictions?
None of the attractions at the Waterford Oaks Wave Pool have height restrictions, but the children's water playground area is designed for those ages 10 and younger.
16) Do I have to pay to park?
Waterford Oaks Wave Pool does not have a fee to park.
17) Do you offer birthday party or other group packages?
Waterford Oaks Wave Pool's Poolside Pavilion can be rented for company picnics, family reunions, birthday parties and other special occasions inside the aquatics area. It has capacity for 75 guests.
Purchase of an admission ticket is required for all people entering the park to access the shelters. All reservations must be completely booked one business day before the desired reservation date; no exceptions. Learn more about rentals on the Picnic Shelter and Facility Rental page.
18) Do you offer a season pass?
Waterford Oaks Waterpark does not currently offer a season pass.
19) How often do the wave pool waves run?
The waves run for 10 minutes and then rest for 10 minutes.
20) Are the pools heated?
Yes, the pools are heated.
21) I'm not a strong swimmer, do you have lifeguards?
Safety is the top priority at Waterford Oaks Wave Pool. We staff our facility with well-trained and attentive lifeguards in the event that a guest needs immediate assistance. We do, however, ask that patrons who are not strong swimmers to avoid putting themselves in water depths or other situations that are beyond their abilities. Free life jacket rental is also available.
