- Department of Natural Resources (DNR) Grants
- Catalyst Communities: EGLE’s Catalyst Communities Initiative provides education, training, planning and technical resources to local governments as they work toward their sustainability goals. The program offers an array of resources on various environmental, social, and economic topics to help communities across Michigan make a just transition to decarbonization. The Catalyst Communities Initiative aims to provide a range of options to meet communities wherever they are, regardless of geography, population size, or pre-existing knowledge.
- Urban Sustainability Directors Network: The Urban Sustainability Directors Network is a network of sustainability professionals with the goal to learn, collaborate, and accelerate the work of local sustainability. By equipping them with the knowledge, resources, and partnerships they need to succeed, USDN helps advance change locally in member communities as well as across the field of practice. The aggregate impact and influence of our collective work makes an equitable, resilient, and sustainable society more attainable.
- Catalyst Leadership Circle: Oakland County’s Michigan Green Communities gold certification has granted access to EGLE’s Catalyst Leadership Circle. The Catalyst Leadership Circle (CLC) and Fellowship is a cohort of communities that leverage peer networking and capacity building opportunities to reach their climate and energy goals. This program is led by the University of Michigan's Graham Sustainability Institute in collaboration with Michigan Green Communities and the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes and Energy (EGLE). The Catalyst Leadership Circle Fellowship (CLCF) is a community-based graduate student program. Selected through a competitive application process, graduate-level CLC Fellows assist host communities on advanced sustainability and clean energy projects. These students, who come from academic programs across the state, help communities take tangible steps toward their sustainability goals while creating shareable deliverables that can be utilized by other jurisdictions statewide. Visit the Graham Sustainability Institute to learn more about 2024 Catalyst Leadership Circle Fellowship Cohort’s project summaries.
