Oakland County Recycles Program

Oakland County is proud to say that each of our departments will have access to in-office single stream recycling bins. The Office of Sustainability partnered with Oakland County’s Facilities, Human Resources, and Public Communications Departments to launch Oakland County Recycles.

The 2030 Project: Make Food Not Waste

In 2024, Oakland County partnered with the City of Southfield, Make Food Not Waste, and several other industry leaders and government agencies to collaborate on the 2030 Project; a food waste reduction pilot program that aims to reduce food waste in Southfield by 50% by 2030.
