Oakland County works to ensure access to quality affordable health care, including mental health services, to improve health outcomes for all residents.

Community Objectives

To measure progress toward our Healthy Residents goal, we will:

• Protect Babies in Their First Year of Life, as measured by the county’s infant mortality rate.
• Increase Access to Health Care, as measured by the percentage of residents reporting that they had no access to affordable health care in the past year due to cost.
• Improve the Mental Health of the Community, as measured by the percentage of young people who felt sad or hopeless in a given time period.
• Increase Access to Home Health Care Services so older residents can remain in their homes as they age, as measured by the annual enrollment of older adults with a disability in essential home care programs.
