Oakland County provides residents the education, training, and support they need to get good paying jobs while assisting businesses in retention and recruitment efforts.

Community Objectives

To measure progress toward our Skilled and Educated Workforce goal, we will:

• Ensure Access to Early Learning Programs, as measured by the percentage of third graders testing as proficient in reading.
• Create Education and Training Opportunities so residents can get good paying jobs and businesses have skilled workers, as measured by the percentage of county residents with a postsecondary degree or industry certification.
• Improve Job Placement and Retention, as measured by the labor force participation rate of county residents.
