Protocol

In order to better serve the attorneys and litigants in the Oakland County Circuit Court-Family Division, the family division judges have adopted the following guidelines. Please advise your clients and staff so that there are no misunderstandings.  Obtain a copy of the Protocol.

Beginning October 01, 2023, the Court will conduct in-person proceedings for Trials and Evidentiary Hearings that require extensive testimony from parties and/or witnesses. The Court will notify all parties of an in-person proceeding status in such circumstances. Unless otherwise notified, all other matters (including Motion Hearings, Settlement Conferences, Statutory Proofs, Personal Protection Order [PPO] Hearings, etcetera) will continue to be heard through the Zoom platform (Judge Langton’s Zoom ID: 248 858 1704). The Court will continue its practice of requiring a digital Judge's copy of all exhibits submitted prior to Trial and is unable to extend the courtesy of mid-Trial copying or printing. Please arrive to the Courthouse with sufficient copies of exhibits and documents for witnesses.
