Brett Dery joined the 52-2 District Court in 2018. She obtained her law degree from Wayne State University Law School and her Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Western Michigan University where she graduated magna cum laude.

Ms. Dery clerked for the Honorable James M. Alexander of Oakland County Circuit Court for five years in multiple divisions including family, criminal, civil, and the newly created business division. Previous to her appointment in Clarkston, she was a supervisor in Court Administration at Oakland County Circuit Court.

Ms. Dery is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the Federal Bar, the Michigan Court Administrators Association, and the Southeast Michigan Court Administrators Association.
