In the wake of recent events related to COVID-19, the Benefits Unit has enhanced county plans to support covered members. Please note that the below changes may be temporary and subject to change.

Summary of Changes to Benefits (COVID Testing & Flexible Spending Accounts)

Medical

All medical carriers (ASR, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and HAP) have approved coverage of the COVID-19 test for covered members. Our ASR and Blue Cross Blue Shield plans have also instituted a Nurse on Call hotline to answer any general health or COVID-19 related questions. Their contact information is listed below.

Prescription

ASR and Blue Cross Blue Shield Members

Navitus has implemented the following temporary changes:

Removal of early refill restrictions that permit members to secure additional supplies (may not apply to Schedule II Controlled Substances)
Waiving restrictions for out-of-network pharmacies
Allowing maximum extended day supply at the time of refill
Permitting emergency refills

HAP Members

HAP has implemented the following temporary changes:

  • Removal of early refill restrictions that permit members to secure additional supplies (may not apply to Schedule II Controlled Substances). Could potentially refill for up to a 6 month period.

HAP is still investigating additional options. Please follow-up with your pharmacy for information pertaining to your specific prescription.
