Death Certificate

Any request for a copy of a death certificate will be denied per MCL 333.2888. We do not generate official death certificates. We start the process but it is not considered an official death certificate until it is filed at the clerk’s office by a funeral director. To obtain a copy of a death certificate, contact the Oakland County Clerk's Office at 248-858-0571.
