Green Stormwater Improvement Projects

Our office is implementing green stormwater infrastructure to improve water quality, funded by the Michigan Department of Environment, Great Lakes, and Energy’s Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF). The CWSRF is designed to provide financial assistance for constructing water pollution control projects that aid in treating stormwater pollution by reducing nonpoint source pollution.

Nonpoint source pollution occurs when stormwater, like rainfall or snowmelt, carry pollutants such as agricultural chemicals, animal waste, and sediment into water resources where they can negatively impact our ecosystems.

Our office with the Augusta and Joseph Jones Drainage Districts received grant funding for various projects in the City of Pontiac. To read more about each project, click the links below.
