The Commerce Township Wastewater Treatment Plant cleans up to 8.5 million gallons of sanitary sewage collected from Commerce Township and other adjacent communities within its collection system each day.

The Commerce Township Wastewater Treatment Plant is committed to operational excellence and regulatory compliance and has earned the coveted Peak Performance Platinum Award from the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA) for meeting 100% of its permit requirements consistently since 2004. The Platinum Award is the highest award offered by the clean water agency and represents perfect compliance with the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit requirements for a minimum of five consecutive years.
