Need Funding? Learn More About the Advantage: Apprenticeships Program

Employers: An apprenticeship program provides a long-term solution to your workforce needs and talent gaps

Partner with Oakland County Michigan Works! to launch a U.S. Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship program.

A Win-Win Opportunity for Everyone

Build a Registered Apprenticeship program to expand your skilled workforce and provide a comprehensive, work-based training opportunity.

Apprenticeships combine classroom study with paid, on-the-job training under the supervision of a journey-level craftsperson or trade professional as a mentor.

The length of apprenticeships vary, depending on the training requirements that you determine are necessary for apprentices to succeed.

Registered Apprenticeship programs may be eligible for federal and state grant support.

Employer Workshop: Cultural Intelligence

Understanding cultural values and improving your effectiveness

  • Date: 09/17/2024 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

How important are cultural values to the success of an organization? According to national research conducted by BambooHR earlier this year, 94 percent of the employees surveyed said an organization’s culture directly impacts its success.

The first step to understanding an organization’s cultural values is to understand your own behavioral preferences. Simply put, these preferences influence how people navigate life and do things. Behavioral Preferences influence how people want to interact, communicate, plan and complete tasks on the job.

Comparing your preferences with those of your colleagues — and recognizing everyone’s unique perspective — can improve interpersonal effectiveness and team performance.

Join us for our next virtual workshop, focusing on understanding cultural preferences and how they make a difference in whether a person thrives or struggles in today’s dynamic workplace.

WORKSHOP HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Why Cultural Intelligence is important
  • Challenges in working across cultures
  • Proven strategies for creating an inclusive organizational culture
  • Viewing differences in behavioral preferences as an opportunity (not a threat)
