iamPontiac Summer Work Experience Program

Looking for a summer job that enables you to learn while you earn?
The iamPontiac work experience program starts on June 26 and runs through August 18
Oakland County Michigan Works!, in partnership with the City of Pontiac and Pontiac Collective Impact Partnership, is offering young adults ages 16-24 and living in the Pontiac area with the opportunity to join this summer’s iamPontiac paid work experience program.
There are employment opportunities within various Pontiac city government offices and the parks and recreation department, as well as other local employers who rely on summer interns.
Jobs include:
- Office/Clerical
- Parks and Recreation
- Customer Service
- Construction/Building Trades
- Manufacturing
- Retail

How to Apply
- STEP 1: Apply to the Program

Completing the online application or emailing us that you are interested in the iamPontiac program is only the first step to the enrollment process. You will be contacted directly by a case manager regarding our upcoming enrollment Sessions to find one that you are able to attend. - STEP 2: Gather Required Documentation
Bring to Enrollment Session:
- Driver’s License, State or School ID
- Social Security Card
- Birth Certificate
- Government Assistance (Food, Cash, SSI Benefit Summary)
- School Schedule or Diploma
- Recent Paystub (Self or Parent if Age 16-17)
- Direct Deposit Information (Bank Statement or Voided Check)
- STEP 3: Attend an Enrollment Session
Enrollment Sessions are Planned for:
Wednesday, May 8
5:30 - 8:30 PMSaturday, May 11
9 AM - 1 PMSaturday, May 18
9 AM - 1 PMWednesday, May 22
5:30 - 8:30 PM
Location: 1850 North Perry | Pontiac, MI 48340
Attendees are expected to be on time and stay for the entire meeting. Persons 16-17 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
