Drug Overdose Prevention & Response
Overdose prevention is a county priority that impacts families and communities. Drug overdose is a leading cause of preventable death in the United States. We can prevent overdoses and save lives by ensuring equitable access to essential health care and support services without stigma.
Oakland County is committed to preventing and responding to this crisis by linking arms with community partners to implement primary prevention strategies, engage in harm reduction work, improve access to treatment, support recovery and increase access to data and resources.
Opioid Settlement Committee
Develops a strategic plan for the equitable distribution of opioid settlement funds.
Overdose Fatality Review Team
Meets monthly and conducts confidential reviews of individual overdose cases.
Substance Use Prevention
Various evidence-based prevention programs are provided at no cost.
Harm Reduction & Syringe Services
Comprehensive, evidence-based program aimed to assist persons who use drugs.
